I have created a complex scheduler system using excel. It incorporates the following:
- A database that contains tasks with associated subtask completion times.
- Several VBA forms that basically link with the database allowing for quick selection of tasks, which then displays the time for each subtasks.
- Reports on the selected tasks\subtasks and details overall time to complete
- A gant chart that aids in project management.
- Various other reporting tools
- An automatic scheduler that factors in nonworking time and nonworking days.
This project was generally cobbled together and kind of evolved into a fairly slow behemouth, so now I'm looking for someting a little more robust. I'm not really keen on rewriting a spreadsheet to upgrade.
I'm looking for a powerful scheduler that can basically automate everything and I'm wondering if there's anybody who might know of such a tool. It has to be insanely easy to use but powerful and intuitive. Also, it would be able to export data to excel, etc.
