Insert a table in a column

    Ok guys ...

I have a table that have 7 columns and 5 rows. In A2:E2 I have the data that I'm collecting and this could grow few hundreds rows.
I want to create or summarize some information in the upper part of the table, so I merge A1:E1 and I was trying to insert a table
in that row but I was unable to do so. I search here "how to insert a table in a row" as I did in google but it return nothing useful.

Any ideas on how to do this?

    Thanks

Unmerge those cells. Merging causes all sorts of problems with formulas and stuff, we try and avoid them if at all possible.

having said that, perhaps there is a better way to do this? Can you upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.

*IF* I'm following you, I think I do something similar already in one of my workbooks.
    I have a table in A:J
    My header rows are 3:4
In L1:P2 I summarize data so that it constantly shows as I scroll to the bottom (I have FREEZE PANES on). The summarizations are the result of SUMIFS formulas.

    Hope this helps!

Re: Insert a table in a column

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

    Thanks for the file

Can you show what you expect please - add it manually, if needed (and "category and all other stuff" needs to be spelled out in more detail, too)

Re: Insert a table in a column

Ok.. in the upper part I want to do some calculations, I already have the formulas running with =sumif and countif. Can I do something like a freeze pane and add a table to place the formulas?

    Thanks
