Hi

I have a spreadsheet with two sheets

Sheet One is a number of columns with various information and is feed from a SharePoint site , one column is Dept

The second sheet is will be a Summary sheet and initially I want for to list the number of depts ie

    IE

    Dept A - 16

Did you try that? or perhaps take a look at countifS()?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

    Try

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

This relies on you already knowing the department name you want to count.

You could also try pivot tables...

Sounds like a pivot table, but not 100% understanding what you mean. Could you upload the file?

    Re: Excel Group Possibility

    Ok a fuller description

The spreadsheet its self is linked to sharepoint and that's were the data is input, so reporting needs to be dynamic as the spreadsheet content will be added to over time.

I have uploaded the xls and on the Summary Sheet shown what I want to achieve - I have added notes

Ideally all management would need to do is open the xls and see the summary report
