using solver to set objective to value of another cell

Is it possible to put a cell reference in the value you want solver to find?

eg. Set Objective - E34
TO Value - E35
By changing F40??

I keep getting an error message so is this not possible?

The usual approach I use, since it is essentially a root finding problem, looks like this:

E36 =E34-E35
Set E36
TO value - 0
by changing F40.
