Hello all,
Hopefully someone can help me with a task i'm struggling with. I'll do my best to explain.
Ok, so i'm a builder and I get asked to do decking projects quite regularly. I can purchase certain sizes of decking boards from my suppliers and when I measure up the job I take the cutting list of which I will need to complete the job.
The decking cannot be worked out on m2 or total linear meterage as the wastage will be too high and this cost a lot of money.
I have attached the spreadsheet that I have started, It does not have to be laid out the way I have done it and can be altered by anyone who is kind enough to lend a helping hand.
I have included the list of sizes of decking that I require for the job and need to spreadsheet to calculate which boards to use/purchase to create the least wastage and gain the best price whilst working out my wastage cost and qty.
e.g.
cuts needed: 0.500mm x 4, 0.600mm x 2, 0.700mm x 2, 2.400m x 4
Board lengths available: 3.660m & 4.880m
Price of 3.660 board (per linear metre): £10
price of 4.880 board (per linear metre): £15
Price of 3.660 edge board (per linear metre): £11
price of 4.880 edge board (per linear metre): £16
Hope this makes sense and someone can help me.
Thanks in advance.
