Thank you in advance for your help.

Problem

When filtering columns (filtering for a words like “earplug” or “earplug plus cord” ) on an Excel 2013 file 75% of the time the program stalls for 30 seconds to 2 minutes while filtering, the mouse cursor spins, the screen turns white, I see a brief message saying “not responding” and then it comes back to the spreadsheet and I am able then to filter. The other 25% of the time it works well.

Some background.

I only use two files with filters, this happens on both.
I am using a new HP Compaq Pro 6305MT desktop computer with a ASM A6-54008 with Radeon HD Graphics 3.60 GHz 64 bit
I am using Excel 2013 locally via Office 365 on Windows 7.
Upgraded to 12MG RAM from 8.
Largest file in question is 4.98 MB
Both files are .xlsx
375 gb of 457 gb is free on the hard drive.
The problem started before using Office 365 while using Excel 2010. IT upgraded me to Office 365/Excel 2013 form Excel 2010 to see if the new version would fix it. I did not have this problem on Excel 2003.
I do not have this problem on my other laptop computer, and a coworker does not have the problem on their computer either.
The largest spreadsheet goes to column AF and has 28,000 Rows
There are no formulas or macros in the spreadsheet.
Problem continues in Excel Safe Mode
Saving the file to my desktop does not help.
IT has checked my system for a process that should not be running and say I am OK.
Copying and pasting the file into a new sheet does not help.
We have re installed Office.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave
