Unhappy Excel saving too slow

Hi
My company using excel store data since we don't have system.
I'm facing the excel file saving time very slow because of too many data.
We use excel to do inventory.
Since the excel have many formula to calculate.
I don't know which one cause the saving time so slow, hard to improve the excel.

Anyway to find out which cause this problem?
Thanks!

Re: Excel saving too slow

I would say the calculations are slowing down saving as by default Excel recalculates your workbook before saving it.
To find out if that is the cause you could switch to manual calculation and disable the option "calculate workbook before save".
To do this go to File-Options-Formulas. Click the option button "Manual" and deselect the option "calculate workbook before save".
Then save the workbook and see if it saves faster.
Cheers!

Re: Excel saving too slow

Hi and welcome to the forum

without seeing a sample of what you are working with, it would be pretty much impossible to say what is slowing things down for you

You say you have a lot of data - how many rows/columns?
what sort of formulas are you using
is there much Conditional Formatting onthe sheets (to make cells change color)
are you using a lot of volatile functions? (functions like NOW(), DATE() etc, that have to calc every time there is a change made to the sheet?)
are you using entire rows/columns in your formulas?
are you using array formulas?

Just a few things to check
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
