    Question Error message when trying to open excel files

    Hi all

    Newbee here. I'm using 2003 (I know!) version & I can't open excel files directly by clicking on them. I get an "error in sending command" message. I can circumvent problem by opening Excel & then opening the relevant file, but this sometimes causes me problems. Any ideas?

    Consider uninstalling Excel and then re-installing. Your program may have become corrupted.

    maybe have a look into the options and try unchecking 'ignore other applications that use DDE' if checked.

    Thanks Holger, The box was unchecked so it's not that.

    Thanks Alan - think I will try reinstalling. Watch this space for silly questions on uninstalling disasters. LOL.
