I use Excel 2000. When I scroll, a tooltip appears next to the scroll bar showing what row/column will be at the top/left of the screen when I release the mouse button, but the actual spreadsheet does not scroll until I actually release the button.
I used Google to discover that many people who have this problem are told that the cause is either:
- The SCROLL LOCK button
- An immutable behavior of certain versions of Excel
I have determined that neither of these is the cause:
- Toggling the Scroll Lock button does not change the behavior; the only change is whether the "SCRL" indicator appears at the bottom of the Excel window.
- Copies of Excel 2000 on other computers in the office where I work do not exhibit this behavior.
Does anyone know what else can cause Excel to do this?
