Hi all,

Our workplace recently installed Office 2013 and I've been playing with it for the past week or so.
I can't say that I'm a fan yet- it seems sluggish, even for trivial actions (don't get me started on VBA performance). I'm wondering if this is something others have experienced and have been able to lessen the effects- a quick Google search suggests it's an issue out there. Occasionally, for VBA macros, Excel suggests that some library/ resource is missing (in both instances, a 'Standard install' was done). It's extremely frustrating and wasn't something I've experienced on Excel 2007 or Excel 2010

An example of what I'm experiencing: I set a conditional formatting coloured fill on a range of 10 cells based on whether cell A1 on the worksheet reads TRUE or FALSE. When I toggle A1 between the possible values, only 2 of the 10 cells are formatted appropriately. I've checked that the rule is accurate. The worksheet is otherwise empty of data so there are no big calculation chains requiring evaluation by Excel.

My work PC is relatively new- maybe 2 years old- and was completely formatted/ programmes uploaded in the past few months. Is there some setting either in Windows or Excel that I need to set to improve performance. I've much the same experience on my 2 week old home laptop running Windows 8 and Office 2013.
