Cell Replicates Another Cell For No Apparent Reason

I've found a cell that replicates another cell on the same sheet. If any number or text is entered, its replicated as text, but if I enter a formula in the cell, the cell works normally. There's no conditional formatting, no links, no macro, no nothing that I can see, yet it happens. Clear all hasn't worked, Google hasn't come up with an answer.
Any ideas please?
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply.
That's the problem. It's someone elses workbook, so I can't. It's not detrimental to it's operation in any way, not that I've noticed so far. I'm hoping someone might have come across it before.

can you delete the row of column?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

I have thought about that, but it's got a lot of formulas in the row. It's 170 columns wide.

As it appears to be doing no harm, I'll leave it if we can't come up with something.

Hard to say without seeing anything

you can always undo this, of just dont save the file and re-open, but try to delete the row/column and see what happens?

You could also insert a new row under it, and then MOVE all the stuff from above, except that cell, and then delete the row

Re: Cell Replicates Another Cell For No Apparent Reason

I'm always a bit iffy about inserting/deleting rows when there's formulas & more than one worksheet involved. I'll rename & save a copy, so if I destroy it, it doesn't matter.
I was in the same boat, re not seeing the workbook. He wanted me to change some things & work out new formulas via phone calls etc. Yeah right lol
Thanks for the suggestions

Re: Cell Replicates Another Cell For No Apparent Reason

Aha.. I've found it. Its the result of a formula way to the left affected cell. For some reason the formula has hundreds of blank spaces with a number 2 right at the end. Delete all the spaces in the formula, problem solved, The formula now gives the correct answer too

Thanks for the replies
