Is there a way to get Multiple Table formats to sort together

    Hey All,

I have a table which is actually made of 3 table formats next to each other - this is because my table has 3 separate sections and I wanted each section to look similar but have a slightly different palette of colors.

Everything works fine with this unless a user decides to use the sort function on one of the column drop downs - when this happens, only the table that that column was associated with is sorted. I have tried specifying a relationship between all three tables to see if this resolved the issues, but it does not.

Is there a way to tell Excel to treat these tables as one? If not, is there a way to use the table format, but change the palette of colors on certain columns?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Cheers,

    PHound.

It's easy to change table formatting. See the attached workbook as an example of how to have one table, in 3 coloured sections. The column colours are maintained when new rows are added.

    ColourTable.xlsx
let Source = #table({"Question","Thread", "User"},{{"Answered","Mark Solved", "Add Reputation"}}) in Source

Thanks OllyXLS, however whilst that method does resolve the sorting issue, it creates another issue (the reason I opted for the three table method). If you have a look at the attached spreadsheet Table Example.xlsx, On sheet "Method 1" I have created a version of a table as you have suggested, however when I filter the results in column A to be just "a" for example, you end up with situations where the blue and orange palette rows in columns d to i lose their odd even color structure. The method I used is shown in Sheet "Method 2" - the problem here is that if I sort by column A columns d to i do not sort.
