enter subtraction result in another cell in the same row.

In cell g1 I enter =a1-f1 and want the answer entered in cell d1

So, when I enter =g1 in cell d1 I get an error.
Any idea how to get excel to enter the answer into cell d1?

I did leave out one important fact;
This is in cell f1 =SUM(B1:E1)

To upload a workbook, click on "Go Advanced" next to the "Post Quick Reply" button, then click on "Manage Attachments" and upload the file from there.

The problem it seems is that you will be experiencing a circular reference in cell D1 (you are referring to the cell itself).
