Product images in to Excel

Hello,

I am hoping some one maybe able to to help me. I have a list of products in Excel with all the part numbers and descriptions ready to upload to my web site and the usual market places. I would also like get all the product images attached or their locations linked to the relevant product. Can this be done with out going line by line pasting locations individually as I have 20,000 images. Is there a search and attached function that work on a "begins with" and then uses the data in a specific column??

All the images are saved as the part number and -1, -2, -3 etc depending on how many image photos i have for each product.

I use either Office for Mac 2011 Home and Business or Office for Windows 2010.

All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if I got your need right. See if this helps.

Browse to the folder where you have stored the images ( in windows).. Select all the photos with Ctrl+A.

Now hold Shift and right click on any one image. There should be an option "Copy as path". Click that.

Open excel and paste.Now you should have the complete path of the product images.

Use hyperlink() to link the path to the product, per your need.

That works but it means doing all products 1 at a time, i have 5,000 products. Is there way you can point at as file and allow excel to do the rest?

Stock Photos File - Use Column C - find all that begin with SP1234J - put file path in column K

Have it go automatically though all of the products inserting all of the files paths so when i up load.

Would need a sample excel file to understand what your need is... desensitize the file before uploading..

this is a mac version but the basics are the same. if required i can kick someone of a Windows system.

i think your getting it right. However how do i implement that? sorry my excel skills are basic at best. I did change certain things like the file name and the part numbers so i would need to alter those. I have stolen a PC as well but it would not be that hard for me to just rename the file and that its self is sensitive and add the those part number and some photos to suit.

Or i can just start again on a PC??

if i go to a Windows machine

my file path for line 1 is as follows

C:\Users\Heather\Desktop\stock product photo\AA123AA.jpg

but also for the same product I have

C:\Users\Heather\Desktop\stock product photo\AA123AA-1.jpg
C:\Users\Heather\Desktop\stock product photo\AA123AA-2.jpg
C:\Users\Heather\Desktop\stock product photo\AA123AA-3.jpg

all the photos are in the same folder.

So which one is the final image you want to use for product AA123AA?

well i will use all 4 but C:\Users\Heather\Desktop\stock product photo\AA123AA.jpg will be the main product photo. I guess they will have to be in separate columns. I will double check this. I have not been give the best instructions of what i am expected to provide. but the way i have understood it i need all images in the excel but i will clarify they need all of them.
