Conditional Formatting to Highlight Same Values between Two Tables

Note -- I am using Excel for Mac.

I have two tables, each of which need to have identical values (I am doing this as a way of verifying that old data and new data are in fact the same). I am trying to do conditional formatting between each table so that the values in each table are identical to the values in the other, and would like the cells to be green for cells that match and red if there is a difference. Any pointers on how to do this would be much appreciated.

Assuming your table 1 is in A1:E10, and table 2 is J1:N10 and includes headings. format the entire table red, then use this...

1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to (do 1 table at a time)
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =A2=J2 format fill GREEN
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Conditional Formatting to Highlight Same Values between Two Tables

I'm using excel for Mac, so I don't have a place where I can use only =A2=J2. It has a min/max type interface, and it tells me that relative references cannot be used for conditional formatting.
