    Question Auto-filing a Series

    Hi,

I am trying to automatically get the following series filled in but have failed thus far:

    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,21,22,23....... (after 7, it skips 3 digits)

    Similarly,

Excel has the "Fill Weekdays" option. However, how do I also remove Friday along with Saturday and Sunday from the dates of a year?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

Put 1 in your first cell (assumed to be A1), then put this formula in A2:

    =A1+IF(MOD(A1,10)=7,4,1)

then copy down as far as you need to.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Auto-filing a Series

That sure helps sir! Thanks a lot.

BTW, is there also any method to remove Friday along with Saturday and Sunday in the "Fill Weekdays" option of excel?

Rather than only having the weekends being removed from my dates, I also am trying to remove Fridays as I only want Mondays to Thursdays in my dates.

    Thanks again!

    Re: Auto-filing a Series

For your second question, put your start date in D1, ensuring it is Monday to Thursday only, then you can use this formula in D2:

    =D1+IF(WEEKDAY(D1,2)=4,4,1)

    then copy down as required.

    Hope this helps.
