    Formatting axes of bubble chart

    I created a bubble chart whose x-axis and y-axis show every 10th value between 0 and 100 (i.e. 0, 10, 20, 30...). The axes intersect at (50, 50) to create 4 quadrants.

I want to erase/hide the values on the axes (i.e. the axes will no longer show 0, 10, 20, 30... and at the same time, the bubbles will still be in the same place) to create 4 blank quadrants and make my bubble chart easier to look at.

    Thanks in advance.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...246.aspx?CTT=1 Go to the "adjust tick marks and labels" section and follow instructions for hiding the labels. See if that does what you want.

Thanks for the reply @MrShorty. I tried that method and got rid of the tick marks, but the numbers are still there.

I figured out a roundabout way of solving the problem - I just set the fill to no fill and hid all of the numbers and the tick marks. I bet there's a better solution out there.

Re: Formatting axes of bubble chart

I am a little surprised. Granted, I am using an older version of Excel. In my version, the option to hide major tick marks, minor tick marks, and tick mark labels are all in the same dialog and each can be hidden independent of hiding/displaying the others. My impression from the 2010 help file I linked to was that the dialog in 2010 was still similar.

Step 3 in the article MrShorty suggested tells you how to set Axis labels to None.

I would be interested to see example workbook where that setting still displayed axis labels.
    Cheers
