Excel can not complete the task with "available" resources

Hi, I am having an issue, with excel (fairly large files):

So, I got 3 large files (ca. 100 mb/file) and, want to have them open, all, at the same, time.

I open the first two, and, everything, seems ok. Here is the memory usage, at the moment the first two are open:

Then, I try, and open the last file. This the error message:

Apparently, there is not enough resources, on this machine. But, that is not the case:

Here is the memory usage, while this message is being displayed (so, while excel is "trying" to open, the file):

As you can see, Excel, is using ca. just UNDER 1.6 Gigs of mem, at the time.

However, this machine, according to Windows, has 4 Gigs, of ram.

Why is this not working? IS there a way, to increase the max amount of memory, excel can use?!

I had the same problem with smaller files & since changing them to xlsb files, haven't had a problem. Changing to xlsb reduced the file size of some of my xlsm files by half & they open much quicker

huh! any dis-advantages, for using xlsb files?

No, not really, unless you need to import them into other software. Binary files have been my default for ages - they're much faster for larger files and make them considerably smaller. It appears that you are also using 32bit office which is restricted to 2GB of RAM - 64bit isn't

ok, may do Also, thmy files are now, only 6mb, in size. Unfortunately, however, issue is there, still. I think I am on excel 32-bit, but, not sure. anyone, know, where I can check? this is office "365"
