Hi, I have just opened a sheet in work and this phenomenon has occured. Basically the data validation: list appears to be referencing a sheet that doesn't exist! My initial thought is that the original sheet name had been changed, but on trial the list seems to change reference. I've checked that the sheets aren't hidden, so I have no clue how this has happened!
It's not really an important issue as I have created a new list but I'd really like to know what's going on...

When it was referencing this sheet, did the data validation work ok? What was the exact formula used for the data validation? Are you sure that it wasn't using a Name which you mistook for the name of a sheet (check Name Manager)?

And just an FYI, there is a "very hidden" sheet feature that when you look for a sheet that is "very hidden" it won't appear in the list of sheets.
