Not able to copy the text from word to excel as numbers

Please help!!!
I have copied some of the values from the internet (date, sales details,profit & loss) to MS word. Then I copied those values which are in table format in word to MS excel. But I am not able to get the summation of the number values. The profit and loss are in a 2 decimal places (for eg. 300.00 or 1260.00).
I tried copying the values directly from web page to excel but it's not successful....... A little trick will help me ......... waiting for the reply guys ......
