Hello, first time writer.
I've got a problem which can be solved with three different possibilities (in my opinion) but I wasn't able to do neither of them.
I have a table which includes value updates from the web. I need excel to highlight those updated changes in a way that I wish (red for lower value and green for higher).
First way I thought to make and which would be the best is that the previous value of the original cell is automatically being copied to another cell when the original is being updated so I can use previous value for other calculations and make the new value in the original cell with conditional formatting to show whether it is lowered or increased.
Second way I thought was to make the value in the original cell highlight on update (change) with conditional formatting. This option does not give me previous value in a different cell for other calculations but I can live with that. The problem is that conditional formatting needs a condition to be set and only cell which contains the condition is being updated so when it changes the condition changes as well so there is no highlight.
Third and most inpractical solution I can think of is to make another cell equal to the original cell and lock it somehow so that it cannot change when the original cell updates/changes and then have the option to unlock it in which moment it refreshes its value to the original cell and then to lock it again before another update of the original cell.
I hope that someone knows how to do any of this but I'm also open to new suggestions about this problem.
