    Question regards possibilities of excel

    Aim

I have a spreadsheet that will be different for every client. It is basically a template for working papers. What I am looking to do, is to somehow have a button to press where it will 'roll forward' the information and set up the next year's working papers workbook.

    What will have to happen

Firstly, I have a C1 page that has current year and previous year values in G6:H200. The G column will have to be copied and pasted, as values, over the H column to 'roll forward'.

I will also need, I assume, a macro of some sort that will pick up all figures, not including formulas that produce a figure, throughout the different worksheets and change them to either 'XX' or '0'.

    Theory

I am not sure if it is possible to do the second bit of the above description, but I think the top part could be done just by recording a macro and doing as I described?

    ___

Is the idea of changing all figures to text possible? this is so the person who has rolled forward will know where all the figures were entered previously?

If so would I post in the macro/vba section?

    thanks

When you say "Roll forward" do you mean add a year to the dates. Eg 20/06/13 to 20/06/14? Yes you are right copy and paste macro is easy, but if you record say G1:G100 and you add some rows say G1:G125 the recorded macro would not pick up any extra rows! if you could post an example of before and after results i'm sure you'r problem will be resolved
