When I open an excel file when already one is open, it will be opened in new window. So Alt+Tab was easy to navigate. Now when I open an excel file when already one is opened, the previous one goes back or hidden in the same window. I'll have to minimize the current excel file(within excel window) to look at the other previously opened one. This is frustrating. Any help, folks?

Try pressing Ctrl + Tab
OR
There is one setting using which you can un-group the Excel windows - I am not having excel 2003 with me right now.. but you can check in Window menu option or in Task bar properties.
