Work Schedule - Deducting Lunch Breaks

    Hi Guys/Girls

If anyone can help it will be VERY appreciated - The issue i'm struggling with is working out Tea Time, Lunch Breaks & Work carrying over to the next day - I got it to a point where it "mostly" does what it needs to, but its a very barbaric way unfortunately its the only way i knew how to get it to work.

So my question is can you please give tips/advise how can i streamline it.

    Breaks are : 10:00 - 10:15 , 13:00 - 13:30 , Day ends 15:45

Please note the sequence of tasks and hours changes often hence me needing the spreadsheet to be dynamic

Btw - D1,D2 etc is which day of the build cycle the task is complete

Attached is a sample of what i created

    Thanks

    Hi ManyLemons23

You do like complicated formulas! I have simplified them, and added a bit of colour. (Who says accountants are dull?) The orange is where you are completing the task from the line above that was started yesterday.
You seem to have run out of steam in the time intervals after 15:00 (or is that when they do not work very hard? ) I have amended it.
You say "Btw - D1,D2 etc" - I have assumed that this refers to D12, D13 etc. I got confused here, so used an easier (for me) formula.

Let me know if I have missed anything

You sir are AWESOME - can't believe how much more simplified it could be. Thank you very much.

As for missing out anything - nope it does everything .

If & whenever you can, there is one more issue that popped up since starting this thread - They want to view what tasks need's to be completed day by day ie. If a task roll's over it needs to then duplicate the description and highlight accordingly - I got it doing this (most probably over exaggerated formula ) , what i need help with if possible there needs to be a bold line splitting the days. Tried doing a conditional format where it state's if the day above ie "D1" < "D2" highlight - but 1. don't see a bold line option. 2. Cant get it to run right across.

Once again Thank you for your assistance thus far - Much appreciated

    Regards

    Hi ManyLemons23

I don't know! Some people are never satisfied!

I could not think of any way of doing it with conditional formatting, so I wrote some vba. Seems to work OK (mind you - it rather defeats the "simplify" objective ! )
I will not insult your intelligence by telling you how to run the code, but to see the code press Ctrl + F8 and select "Step into"

I was just about to send this to you when I discovered a flaw in the original - if the last line rolls over to the next day, it will not display the rollover day properly. There are two possible solutions - pay me lots and lots of money for a complete re-write or add a 5 minute check as a last line (third option - just colour it in!)

    Hi ManyLemons23

I'll let you know about the Zim dollars once I can establish an exchange rate.

Let me know if anything needs amending

    Regards
    Alastair
