    Copying conditional formatting

    Hi,

I created file with some conditional formatting, which uses formulas to make formatting. The source for the formulas are located on the other sheet, while the sheet containing conditonal formatting is another... What I am going to try is to Select All cells in Sheet containing formatting and copy to another sheet. This is done because users need to create several sheets becuase sheet contains some legal document Draft/Template.

Unfortunately problem is that, after copying all the content to another sheet, the formatting does not work, even though, when oppening conitional formatting rules and there are formulas included, they do ot work?

Why does this problem exist? and can it be fixed? if needed I will upload some smaple file.

P.S. the problem exists even when I make a copy of a sheet.

Try to remove the '$' symbols in your formatting formula and copy, this should work

    Hi G.Bregvadze,
Can you upload the problem sample file, remove your sensitive data.

Before that, maybe you can try the "Format Painter",
Select All cells in Sheet containing formatting, click Format Painter.
then click the 1st problem cell, and apply the Format Painter.
-If the problem is solved, please mark your thread as Solved: Click Thread Tools above your first post, select "Mark your thread as Solved".

-Always upload a workbook before start your question
To attach a file, push the button with the paperclip (or scroll down to the Manage Attachments button), browse to the required file, and then push the Upload button.

    Hre is a sample file.

If you can see, the Source of logic comes from DATA sheet.

The results appear on Sheet "FORM"...

Results appear according to amounts entered in the table.

    File: FORM sample.xlsx

    Re: Copying conditional formatting

The question here is, how the copying of "sheet" being done and where it is ending up. First, to copy a sheet, right click on sheet tab and select Move or copy. Determine location to copy, tick create a copy option, then OK.

Where the problem may be occuring is if the user copies to another file (workbook). Without the sheet containing the information which the CF is based on (DATA), the CF formula likely result in #N/A, and nothing happens. There are methods to circumvent this from happening, the easiest is to copy the DATA sheet to the other workbook too.

    Hi G.Bregvadze
I did not see any CF at sheet<FORM>. Can you upload a spreadsheet with CF, and another spreadsheet is after you copy and paste, the CF did not work. So we can see the diff. Thanks
