Exclamation Compare two columns and delete duplications

    Hi,

    I have a spreadsheet with 4 columns.

I would like to Compare Column A with Column B, if Column A contains text or numbers anywhere in Column B, then remove the corresponding rows not just in Column B, but Column C and D as well for that row.

    Please help.

not sue i follow 100%. based on what you posted, you would like to delete all rows where col B is not blank?
    ie.
    col A = Hello, col B = (Blank) <-- delete
    col A = Hello, col B = Hello World<--do not delete
    col A = Hello, col B = Goodbye <--do not delete

or do you want to delete col B if it is equal to col A?
    ie.
    col A = Hello, col B = Hello<-- delete
    col A = Hello, col B = Hello World<--do not delete

or do you want to delete col b it it contains col A
    ie.
    col A = Hello, col B = Hello World <-- delete
    col A = Hello, col B = Goodbye <--do not delete

Exclamation Re: Compare two columns and delete duplications

    It's more like this:

    1. Column A Column B Column C Column D
    2. Alan Smith Steve Johnson 1/2/2010 Human Resources
    3. Fred Jones Alan Smith 1/3/2007 Marketing
    4. Jim Coda Donald Lima 1/4/2007 Sales
    5. David Dames Fred Jones 1/5/2009 Sales
    6. Dave Davidson Dave Davidson 1/2/2001 IT

So, based on this example, it would remove the following:

    Alan Smith 1/3/2007 Marketing
    Fred Jones 1/5/2009 Sales
    Dave Davidson 1/2/2001 IT

    But would leave alone these:

    Steve Johnson 1/2/2010 Human Resources
    Donald Lima 1/4/2007 Sales

I hope that makes more sense.
