delete duplicate values in same cells [for now...]

hi
i checked the forum but must have missed data on my problem.
i have had my gmail contacts 'cleaned out' by a 3rd party program [scrubly] and now i sit with hundreds if not 1000s of contacts with repeat data in the same cells after 'auto-merge'.
i am sure excel can assist with sorting out this mess.
any help will be appreciated

that is going to be hard thing to fix with out seeing something.
can you upload a small sample file to give us an idea of what you are dealing with?

now in my spreadsheet multiple cells in random positions have duplicate content like the above - which, as you mention, makes it tricky if not impossible.
one such situation i'll post in another thread is the fact that some cells also contain emails which i have to extract and paste without loosing their horizontal [row] positions
