I am trying to have some columns, which are empty, a specific size so that it just creates a space between them and am wondering if there is somehow to do this in excel.
Thanks for any feedback on this.

Here's one way to set the column width of several columns at once.
• Select A1
• Hold down control and click: C1, F3 and H10
• Home.Format.Column_width...enter a width number...press: ENTER
Is that something you can work with?
With your spreadsheet open, take your mouse up where the columns are displayed Lets try column A, move your mouse towards B. When you come close to the line between A and B your pointer will turn into a left arrow and a right arrow divided by a vertical line. When that happens click and drag and it will change the width of the column.
If you want to change the width of more than one consecutive column then..
Put your pointer on the A in coloum A, click and drag the mouse pointer horizontally to however many columns you want. Release from the drag and then put your mouse pointer up to any one of the highlighted columns and look for the same left and right arrow with divided vertical line. Then click and drag and you will change the width of all the cells you highlighted.
This also works for and rows you want to change the width for.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for answering.
This I know about. What I am interested in is having it so that others cannot change the column size so that A, F, G always stay at that one size or if I add a column in the group it will move over but keep the same size on the separating column.
I have not seen this before so am not sure that it can be done in Excel.
If you have an idea about this it would be greatly appreciated.

I answered this in the other but the goal is to freeze the size of the columns that I want frozen. And to make it so that people using the spreadsheet cannot change them on their own.
Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it.
