The creator of the file you're trying to open has a newer version of Excel. It is not compatible. The user/creator would need to save it differently (save it as Excel 2007).

"zzz.xlsx" is version 2010 (perhaps even 2013....I don't have that version but I would assume it would be the same).

Re: Excel found unreadable content in 'zzz.xlsx'

can you upload the file here? provided it does not contain sensitive data
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

Re: Excel found unreadable content in 'zzz.xlsx'

I had that problem here and I had to resave certain documents for our users using an older version. Perhaps there's more to it on our end if it should not have been a problem.

I wonder if one Micro$oft's developers has a weird of humour and tests the filename and, if finds it contains a string = "zzz" causes Excel to fall asleep?
