    Unhappy Excel Sales Invoice Tracker

    Hi everyone!

I have played around for a day now, but I am not expert enough to find out what's wrong.
I have downloaded excels template called Sales Invoice Tracker and started filling out the fields... first there is an error in the first line of the INVOICE sheet which makes the Item # field stay blank even though it should be filled.
I was bold and copied the "formula" of the second line on the INVOICE sheet into the first line and voilą it now shows the item # as filled in in the INVOICE DETAILS sheet.
But whatever I do (I downloaded again and filled in the data again) there is always weird stuff happening. Some numbers are shown aligned left, some only half left with an indent.
But the real problem is that the details are completely mixed up. On the INVOICE sheet you select the invoice number and it should automatically fill in the details you filled in on the other sheets. But for some invoices the details are correct, for some details are missing and for some the details are from another invoice. Sometimes there is a wrong project name on the invoice, sometimes a wrong client, sometimes both are missing, sometimes only one is missing - although all the information is correctly filled in in the sheet the INVOICE sheet takes its data from. I have no idea how that can even be logically. How can it be correct in some cases and wrong or not there in others? So now I gave up and hope somebody who knows how the relative connections between sheets work in EXCEL takes a look at it and finds out what's wrong with it.
Because I am pretty sure by now the template itself has errors. So maybe there is even some Microsoft developer out there who wants to correct it, because its a Microsoft template.

I will attach the file - of which I have already deleted the instructions sheet - so please search the templates online (easily from excel 2013 in the open dialogue) for "Sales Invoice Tracker" for reading the instructions. Its pretty necessary for understanding whats going on in the beginning.

Thanks a lot, this would be all I need for keeping track of my translation projects' payments.

    Best regards

PS: Maybe I should make a bit clearer why I posted such a specific looking problem... 1st its an erroneous template that should be corrected. 2nd Many people looking for invoice templates will find this, think its perfect and be frustrated after filling it all out, learning how it works (takes a while) and then having to just throw all that work away because it doesnt work. 3rd When this one works it will be a real help for everyone who has to keep track of payments of invoices!
