Hi and welcome to the forum

Without seeing what you are working with, I cant give you an exact formula, but you need to use either vlookup or index/match

If you still have a problem, please provide additional into and maybe upload a sample workbook
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: drop box, multiple column

I think you did not get idea (from example). Every number have some example which is large and require big cells

example, choices are

1 Please choose this if this is your answer
2 Please choose this if this is your answer
3 Please choose this if this is your answer
4 Please choose this if this is your answer
5 Please choose this if this is your answer

Idea is to have drop box, windows message, whatever where have all detail, but when user choose one, in excell table get only result (number)

from example, If i choose 4 Please choose this if this is your answer in cell will appear just 4

additional, I know for data validation, but as I say, from list you can choose just data from one column and sometimes descriptions are to large and sheet is not well organised

Re: drop box, multiple column

maybe I do not understand what you did
but when I change options, score is same (not changed)

Point is when choose critical, in call is not written critical but 5, if click again on cell and instead critical choose serious, in cell get 3
