Ctr-S?

I thought that ctr-s would save my workbook, but instead it made a blue highlighter color box around a cell. What is this and how do I get rid of it?

Re: Ctr-S?

I dont know what you actually hit, butr CTRL S Saves the active file with its current file name, location, and file format.

for more shortcuts see this link...

I would suggest you take a look at what you might have pressed instead of either CTRL and/or S
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

I suspect that you have a macro in your spreadsheet that has over ridden the default Ctl +S for save. Click on Alt + F8 and look at the macros in your spreadsheet and see if one of them is linked to Ctl + S.

Oh I see. Is there way to create a shortcut. For example, if I know that I am going to be inserting a ton of picture comments into a lot of cells, having a shortcut for that would open up the picture comment windows would save a ton of clicking and time. Thanks for the help.

I just learned how to create a simple macro, but i cant figure out how to create a macro that gets me to the step of chosing a picture to insert into a comment. Do you know how I could get a macro to do that? I tried recording it, but when I tried to run the macro, it only took me to the step of creating the comment, not the step of browsing my pictures, which is what I would like it to take me to.

insert - new module
paste the code in
then back in the main excel window use alt+f8 to bring up the macros dialog and assign a shortcut key to the macro

thank you so much man. you just saved me a ridiculous amount of time. the only problem now is that the picture comments are all small. is there a way to make them all bigger?

Re: Ctr-S?

do you mean that the pictures are small within the comment or the comments themselves need to be bigger?

I started a separate thread for resizing all of the comments and just solved it last night. Thanks again for all your help!
