First off, I'm new to excel, so I don't know the terminology for many different things. This prevents me from knowing how to search up problems that I'm having.
Well, I've got a table with a few thousand records that looks like this:
\1
There are 2 tables I want to derive from this, but have no clue how to do it.
A) A table that has the column showing the Names of the players, and next to it, a column showing how many seasons they've played.
B) A table that lists the Name of a player, and next to it, the name of the player on his team that year that scored the most FanPts
Perhaps some hints that can help you guys help me:
A: seems simple
- As you can see, the number of seasons a player has played is equal to the number of entries found for that player!
B: more complicated!
- maybe this will take more than one table to complete?
- sounds like this will need a lot of looking up and IF statements..
- look up team name of player, look up year, then look up who scored most fantasy points, then return name of player who scored that?
Well, i hope this isn't too much to ask for, and hopefully the leads i've thought of can spark an idea of how to do this. I'm sure the first table won't be difficult for some of the experts out there. But i can only hope for the second table :/
