Printing 20 pages....asking for 1

I have tried everything that I can think of. My father in law has an excel document that he uses for soil testing results. Starting last night when he goes to print it he gets 20 pages (4 pages of the one he wanted to printed and 16 pages that have random lines). I checked the document and made sure he only had the one page being used and that there weren't any random lines on other pages in the document. I checked the margins and checked the page settings. When I set the page settings to fit one page wide by one page tall it would turn the document into the 20 pages. When I set it to % it would have to be at 24% in order to only print one page (but the document would only take up like a 2" x 2" square at the top of the page). In order for the document to show full size I would have to have it at 100% which would make it 20 pages again. Any ideas? The printer was low on ink....any chance that could have been the issue some how? I opened up a new excel and transferred everything to the new document and it had the same issues.

Try transferring ONLY the cells being used (ex cells A1:F200).

Hi and welcome to the forum

here's 2 suggestions.....

hit end-home together and see where you end up. If it is "out in the middle of nowhere", that means that you have cells with "stuff" in them (formatting or data). hold the shift key and go left and up until you get to where your data is - if you are SURE that what you have highlighted does NOT contain data/info you need, select EDIT/CLEAR ALL

highlight the data you want to print, select FILE/PRINT area/SET print area

let me know how you make out?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
