I have a summary workbook that incorporates pivot tables that populate themselves from 5 linked workbooks. All 6 workbooks are in the same directory on a network.
Is there any way for the summary workbook and its pivot tables to update themselves as the linked workbooks are worked on? Or do the linked workbooks have to be saved and closed first? It all works fine when I'm working on the linked workbooks on my local drive.
Also, I can't seem to refresh the summary workbook without first unlocking each worksheet in the summary workbook. Is this normal? I made a workaround macro that unlocks all worksheets, refreshes the data, then relocks each worksheet. It's a messy workaround.
Finally, I can't refresh the summary workbook with any of the linked workbooks open. Is this normal?
I would really like the linked workbooks to automatically update and refresh the summary workbook automatically, irrespective of whether the linked workbooks are open or not. Is this possible?
