Excel 2010 added shadowboxes to checkboxes?!

This is a weird one. Just installed Excel 2010. A worksheet that is fine in 2003 and 2007 now has a shadowed box around my checkbox controls.

I can't find a way to turn these off. Can anyone help?

In the attached screen shot, see the checkboxes in the lower left.

How to remove shadow from Checkbox?

After upgrading to Office 2010, check-boxes in older workbooks now have shadows on them. (See attachment.)

I am unable to remove this shadow.

I'm referring to a shadow around the grip points of the control, not the shadow in the check-able box itself.

Under <right-click> Format Control 3d Shading is set to No Fill and No Line.

And under Drawing Tools, Shape Fill and Shape outline are set to to "No Fill" and "No Outline"

Any suggestions on how to remove this shadow?

Re: How to remove shadow from Checkbox?

After 2 days worth of research, I can not find a solution to this problem. Therefore I will classify this anomaly a KNOWN BUG with Excel 2010 and will therefore switch back to Excel 2007. If others run across this problem, the only way around it is to delete and re-insert the checkbox from with EXCEL 2010, or go back to using a previous version where this issue is not present. Microsoft knows about this well known bug and needs to come up with a fix, but as of today, from what I could come up with, there is no acceptable solution to this problem.
