Smile Can a cell go BOLD and UNDERLINE as a heading from the condition of other cell(s)

    Hi,

I am wanting a cell to automatically go bold and underline from the conditions of other cells.

    i.e.
I have a sheet which prints off a summary sheet hiding my private confidential workings, however on some lines (which vary from sheet to sheet and quote to quote) I want the cell to be a sub-heading.

    e.g.
I set cell A1 from a dropbox to say SUB-HEADER or ITEM, I then enter the description into cell B1, there are then a number of cells which include data for calculation which follow along the row to give calculated rates in the 'printed' section.

When ITEM is selected all cells in the printed section are all correctly calculated and filled in.

When SUB-HEADER is selected the printed section shows the description in cell J1 (copies in from B1) but not any quantity or rate in K1 or L1 (which are calculated from between C1 - I1) which it did when ITEM was selected and are the results I want, thus the printed line now shows as a heading for data which is subsequently printed below.

In this instance can the cell automatically turn bold and underline along with a fill colour (such as from a conditional format) or does this have to be done manually in each case.

The reason I want this as a function is because I may want to edite the sheet and reset the A1 cell from SUB-HEADER to ITEM in which case I want the Bold & Underline and fill colour to reset to normal.

    Regards.

If you know about conditional formatting, then you know how to do this. Conditional formatting includes not only fill color, but also font style (regular, bold, italic, bold+italic) and underlining (single or double). When you set the format, there are four tabs: Number, Font, Border, Fill. Click on Font.
