Excel cannot complete the task with available resources

I'm sure this has been asked before but I cannot find it on a search.

I'm attempting to open two spreadsheets in Excel 2003, one 3.4MB, the other 1.3MB. They do contain a lot of sumifs and links to each other and other spreadsheets. When I open the second model (doesn't matter which order) I get the error message which is attached hopefully!!

From other searches I don't think it is a problem with the size of the files. It may be a 2003 problem and/or a problem with a short term Excel RAM issue??

    Any thoughts please?

I'm in the same situation with you smifffyd!

Its frustrating enough, thinking that maybe the file is corrupted & that i have to redo the spreadsheet again. But when i open up a new workbook & start all over again, the error pop up again.

    Anyone has any idea why?
