Hello Pros,

I am facing a unknown kind of a problem while uploading a excel file on a website, that is made of asp.net.

Actually, our company policy is, that we provide OPEN OFFICE to our branches and we have MICROSOFT OFFICE in out head office computers.
Now the problem is that when our branches try to upload a excel file (filename.xls) to a website (webpage extension is .aspx) we get a error "Please upload a valid Excel file" whereas if we do not change anything on the PC and only install Microsoft Office, we can upload the same file from the same website. I tried to do same thing via other browser but they restricted the site to use only on MS IE.

My personal thinking about this, is the website is using client side validation for excel file and using some MS Office DLLs to do so.

For some reason i can not mention the website name, and you wont be able to check it anyways, as the website is accessed by user accounts.

Can anyone please tell me, what drivers or runtime or anything that i need, that will solve this problem.

One more thing i would like to say about this problem.... If i open that website from new computer which does not have any office at all and download a sample file from same webpage which is (filename.xls) and try to upload the same file, it gives me same error "Please upload a valid Excel file" and same thing, if i install microsft office on that computer, it uploads the file with no error at all.

Regards,

Faraz.
