Make zeros appear "-" or actually zero!

    Hey everyone,

I work as an accountant, and my boss wants all zeros to look like the accounting zero (or a simple "-"). In my schedules, I convert amounts from thousands, so there are a lot of numbers that appear 0, when in fact they are something like 300 or 399 or -234 or anything under 500 (which would round up to 1). I of course, the one responsible for the data, don't want to switch to precision as displayed, as data gets destroyed and my job gets harder. Is there a setting where I can make zeros appear to be zero, without destroying the data?

    Thanks for the help!

Right click > Format cells > Accounting > Pick the one to suit your need.
