default view of excel when opening.

For some reason, when I open my excel spreadsheets, the opening view is on the "file" tab and not the "home" tab, as it has always been.

When I click "home" to format or whatever, it allows my one click and then it reverts back to the "file" tab. It's very annoying, and time consuming. Can someone help me get this back to normal? Perhaps reinstal my original disks? I can't do a "restore" because I dont' know the exact date this started happening.

    thank you.

im using 2007 and there is no "file" tab. perhaps its a tab that was created using VBA, and is now setup to be the default tab?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Thank you for the help. I went to that site but it didn't help. I did solve the problem very simply.. on the upper right side, ubove the command ribbon is an arrow... right next to the help question mark.

The arrow was pointed down... I clicked it to point up, and everything is now back to normal... I don't understand, but it's fixed. Thanks again for your help.
