    Vlookup with rand()= #NA?

    good day all,

    Im trying to get a randomizing name and if i use rand() next to what i want random i could achieve this. i have all add-in checks, and i keep getting #NA! return

    my code is =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(F17,D4:E8,2,0),"Return TRUE!") F17 is my random number D4 is row or Rand() and E4 is my row of names. i thought the iferror would solve it for me but did not.(tried iserror to)

    i have seen this done, but it just wont work for me, i have tried to make the formula an array as well and still get the same message.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    Need to change the column sequence in lookup table array. Lookup value should be in the first column of lookup table.

    Check the attached s/s.

    Dilip Sir,

    Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Re: Vlookup with rand()= #NA?

    ok.. it is because vlookup works left to right. try interchanging data between column D & E
    after this you might need to update the reference in your large function as well
