Locking Cells

Hi
Is there a way where by I can enter a "x" Col N and the cells highlighted in yellow would be locked. This would be a progressive thing throught the year therefore more "x"s would be added on a monthly basis. Failing that, could the entire row be locked? By Locked I mean Cell Properties/Protection and tick the 'locked' box.

Not that I am aware of from standard operation. If you get no reponse to this one over the nest couple of days post it in the VBA section as this my be possible with a bit of programming which is way beyond me at the moment.
