    Tree Structure with +/- button

    Hello,

This is my first post. However, I have read many articles and they have been very useful.
I have now a problem where I cannot find an answer.

I am doing a giant matrix of data with many variations. I would like to have ideally a structure like this:

    https://www.smartsheet.com/gantt-cha...-t1746498.html

I am not talking about the gant chart, just the way the data is hidden/ shown with the button. In the first part, you will see the buttons I want at work. This is actually just like the pivot table in excel.

Is it possible to implement this in excel inside the spreadsheet so when i click on this button, the lines appear?

Any other ideas would be very appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Regards,

    Sebastien

    Hi. Thank you.
Yes, this is what I am using right now. But then, I find it not very practical when you have many nested groups. I am looking for something more flexible maybe.
    However, thanks for your reply!

I actually don't really like grouping either... maybe use one or more additional columns categories and use autofilter? I like that idea a lot better than grouping. Here is what I think based on your link:

Yes, filtering is a very nice way of presenting the data. However, it is not so good when you do many manipulation and search for things. The file is a sort of Catalog of test with many variations. So you check and uncheck many times all sorts of filters...This is what i currently have also to sort my data.

Does anyone knows if it is possible to implement the PivotTable +/- buttons inside excel? There shoulb be a way since it is used with the pivot table...
