Hello!
Does anybody here know if it's possible to create a XY-chart in three dimensions - with a third axis in addition to the x and y-axis?

Hi Hope this chart will help you.
X axis shows the sales, y axis shows profit .. And the bubble shows the quantity.
Fred
Well I would definitely prefer to have the 3rd axis as well... But besides from that I cannot see how you created the chart - there is no data what so ever?![]()
Excel does not have the ability to plot a true 3D scatter plot. If you can modify your X and Y data so they are evenly spaced (so they can be treated as 'categories'), then you can fake a 3D scatter plot. As Fred suggested, a bubble chart can be used to show 3D data. A contour plot (Z vs. X at different, constant values of Y) is also a good way to show 3 dimensions when only 2 are available. If you really must have a true 3D scatter plot though, you will need to look outside Excel.
You can compute 3d to the 2d points to get a version of a xyz plot in excel
