Dont know about earlier versions but thankfully in 2007 onwards you dont need to remember them (far to many anyway). All you need to do is click on the fx button on the formula bar type in a brief description of what you want and you are presented with a list of possibles if you select the one you want excel gives you a template of the requirements of that function and a brief description. You will find that the ones you use the most will be remembered anyway.
