Double Click Cell to go to Source not working

    Hi there,

Normally when I double click on a cell with a formula linked to another spreadsheet, the double click takes you to the source. However, if the cell also has a comment, the double click takes you into the edit comment option and not to the source.

Is it possible to turn off the edit comment option from the double click?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi John,

Double click on a cell with a formula will make the formula editable.. also the moment your cursor reaches to that cell, comment window will also appears. I am not sure how double clicking is taking you to the source... can you upload the sample file.. ? Thanks.

That is correct in the default Excel set up. However, if you go to Excel Options> Advanced> Editing Options and uncheck the box "Allow editing directly in cells" you will be able to double click on a cell with a formula to take you to the source of that formula.

My problem is that if the cell also has a comment, the double click only takes you into the edit comment function.

I would like to ensure that when I double click on a cell with a formula, which also has a comment, that it will still go to the source of the formula.
