Automatically convert Date format M/D/YYYY TO DD/MM/YY

Hi Forum,

I am downloading excel worksheet from our companies website in this file date coloumn comes as m/d/yyyy. I want formula to change it automatically to DD/MM/YY.

What happens if you format the date as dd/mmm/yy? Is it showing the 3 digit month for all the data without any error?

it is showing 11/6/2012(mm/dd/yyyy) in cell I want 06/11/2012 (dd/mm/yyyy)

The above one is not the expected reply for my question.... Could you please go though it once again because I have clearly mentioned as 3 digit month.

Please understand the reason for asking the question. The attachment is helpful but still require the answer for the question. Because changing the date setting of your system will be a simple solution for this issue rather than writing a lengthy formula.

I don't understand the problem. When I open your file all the dates in column E are in the format dd/mm/yyyy, all with November dates.
