    Document repair keeps comming up

    Hi there,

I hope you can help me, I'm using exel(office) 2003 and the last 5 day's the following problem occurs:
The window "Document repair" keeps comming up, everytime you start exel again, we of course delete or repair the files, but it still keeps comming back. It's running in a Citrix enviroment with 5 users.

Who knows what's going on? Thx Joop

Does this always happen with the same file? Is it especially large? Does it always happen to the same user? If not, does it happen to one or more people more often than others? What action is being performed when it happens? Any similar issues with other programs recently?

It happens with al users, also with de administrator account.
3 the same file's apear in the list, sometimes even the same file twice, but I also saw onetine a new created file(but I'm asking myself now:Could it be that this last file was realy broken? So it should be there?.
    It happens all the time.
When it happens, I tried _Repair the file(it say's no repair needed) and than quit or save the file.
I don't think it's happening with other programs.
Some of the exel files are readonly.

What do you mean by "all the time"? Is every Excel file constantly repairing, or only when a file is in use? Is it every time a document is opened? Saved? What action is taking place when this message pops up? It may help if you have each user record some details about what they were doing, which file, and date and time when these errors occur and look for patterns, like if multiple users had the file open at that time or if it always happens when a specific action is performed.

Everytime means when starting exel form scratch, directly the "broken" files appear in the "Document repair" window. When I trie to repair them, exel say's the file is not damaged. Then I save the file or just close it, but after stop and start exel, the same files appear again.

Sounds like what's happening is Excel is repeatedly giving you the same recovered document(s). Closing and restarting Excel won't change the document that it's recovered or repaired for you, and they won't go away until you choose the option that you're finished with the documents there, even if you close the program. If the file is corrupted or otherwise damaged in a way the program can't use it, I am not aware of a way to recover it, although I do not have an IT/IS background.

Re: Document repair keeps comming up

Hi all, Problem solved, that is, the cause is still unknown, but the workaround worked!
It turned out that there where 2 files (still in use and mutated) witch appeared in the “Document repair” window. The solution was simple open en save the file with a different filename and the problem was over. Thx 4 your time!
