Talking Calculating Effort & Applying it Over Multiple Months to Create a Forecast

    Dear All,

I am trying to build a spreadsheet which will allow me to forecast the total amount of consulting effort required by month.

I have attached a simplified example of what I am trying to achieve.

I have 2 types of project (Simple and Complex) one takes 30 days of effort split over 5 months, the other takes 37.5 days of effort split over 4 months.

The effort (measured in consulting days) is a fixed percentage of the total days needed to deliver the project, from the start month.

So if I know that Standard Project #125 starts in June, I need to add 3 days to June, 6 days to July, 3 days to August, 12 days to September and 6 days to October for a total of 30 days. This needs to be recorded in the forecast for the North region.

Is there a neat formula or function or script which can help me do this?

I really appreciate any pointers in the right direction.

    Cheers

    Groover.
